Gay marriage
I am not gay! I'm as hetero as they come. I have two kids and have been married for over 30 years. But I do not understand why so many people have a problem with gays and gay marriage. I don't understand why they want to deprive gay people of the same civil rights that they themselves enjoy. Gay persons deserve life, liberty and to pursue their happiness the way they see fit, not the way some religious zealots would have it. I believe that most people that are anti-gay or anti-gay marriage are that way because of religious morals and convictions. The way I see it is this, if your a fundamentalist Christian or other religious sect and don't believe in gay marriage, then if you're gay don't get married. What ever happened to that old adage of live and let live? I believe if we had more of us practicing that adage we would have a lot less turmoil in the world.
Generally speaking I don't agree with the court system or the government in general. But as the domain name of this site indicates I think the government is corrupt and out of control and, of touch with the people. But I do have to applaud the California supreme court for having the courage to stand up and overturn the unconstitutional ban on gay marriage. It's about time they did something right. And I urge everyone who believes in equal rights for everyone to stand up and let your voices be heard. Allow people to love whom they want.
