Obama wins!!!
Did the republican cheat machine fail?
Politics
Current events
The current political drama that's playing out between Senator Obama, and Senator John McCain is a wonderful example of how our political system is corrupt. Neither of these two men, and I do mean neither are going to do anything to help the average American citizen. Both of these men are nothing more than political power mongers. And it really doesn't matter who ultimately wins the election, fuel prices are going to continue to rise, terrorists threats are still going to be there, and the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor is going to continue to grow even larger, especially if Mr. McCain gets into the White House. The only real difference between the Democrats and Republicans is that democrats use Vaseline but the outcome is generally the same, no matter who wins. But I'll bet anyone that the Republican, John McCain is going to win the election. The reason I believe this is simply because if he can't do it fairly through the election process the Republican party will figure out another way to cheat again. But I'm going to vote for the democrat anyway. And the only reason I'm doing that is to try to keep an admitted war monger from getting into office. I also believe that politics has sunk to a new low when Senator McCain uses fear mongering to drum up support. I am not a sexist and I sincerely believe a woman could run this country as good as any man, but the lady Mr. McCain selected as his running mate is in my opinion a way to conservative. But I guess Mr. McCain is hoping to energize his conservative base. I hope it backfires in his face.
Mr. McCain is trying to use his status as a former POW to help in his bid to become the next president. I don't understand how he can think that being a former POW gives him any special qualification to be president over Mr. Obama. There has been a lot of people, including myself, who are veterans of that war, and many of them have also been POW's. I don't think they have special qualifications either. The only difference I can see between Mr. McCain and the rest of most veterans is that he is a war monger.
I also believe that most true war hero's would be appalled at the way the're throwing the word hero around lately. All the pro war people are calling everyone who is serving in Iraq or Afghanistan as hero's. And the press is calling anyone who is killed in action a hero. I was under the impression a true hero is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty, someone who risks or gives up their lives to save their buddies. I think the're cheapening the word hero by using it too freely. Just because a soldier has been a POW or KIA does not necessarily make him or her a hero. Lets keep the term hero for those persons who truly deserve the title, not just everybody in the military. And Mr. McCain is NO hero. He was just another hotdog pilot who got shot down. To my knowledge he didn't risk his life to save anyone, did he get the bronze star, silver star or congressional medal of honor. Men who got those are the true hero's.The political system
It is my opinion that the political system in our country, the United States is a complete farce. The political rulers of both the Republican and the Democratic political parties what you to believe that we are a multi-party system. They want you to believe the Republicans are the conservatives and the Democrats are liberals. When in reality there are no true conservatives, nor are there any true liberals in government. It is my belief that nearly all the politicians from both of these so called political parties are in reality, controlled by money. The Republicrats as I like to call them, are nearly all bought and paid for by the corporations that really run this country. I do say nearly all, because I do believe that some of the politicians in Washington are honest, and reputable and try to do an honest job.
Of the rich, by the rich and for the rich
They like to say this is a country "of the people, by the people and for the people" But I see it as is a country "of the rich, by the rich and for the rich and administered by the politicians". The rest of society are considered as nothing but consumers and economic slaves for the corporations that run this nation. We really do have the best country of earth, the best country that money can buy.
I have no problem with the free enterprise system. I do believe that it creates incentives for individuals to excel and accomplish their dreams, and perhaps even benefit society in general. However I also believe that the free enterprise system as it is currently established in this country has run amok. There is an ever widening gap between the rich and the poor. And the middle class is caught in the middle. And I sincerely believe that if something isn't done to close this gap, it could lead to some severe socio-economic problems. I also think it's a sin that ballplayers and movie actors can make tens of millions of dollars per year, while there are entire families out there who are homeless and don't even have enough to eat. Yet these same people who make all this money bitch, moan and complain about their taxes. They should all be ashamed of themselves. I don't care what anyone says, I believe there is enough money in this country to feed and house every man, woman and child.
I also think it's disgusting how our government and society treats the most vulnerable of our citizens. The poor, disabled and the elderly are treated as if they were a burden on society. In some states they get absolutely no help whatsoever, and in the states where they do, they get a pittance for survival. And even in some of these states, like California the politicians who control the budgetary process, want to cut even deeper into that small amount. It is my opinion, every person, especially the elderly and disabled should be treated with dignity and should not be required to live in absolute poverty. Every person who cannot work because of a physical or mental disability should be given adequate monetary benefits to allow them to live a comfortable lifestyle, and given all the help and assistance they need and deserve.
Law enforcement
The police like to say, and want you to believe that they are here to serve and protect. Perhaps the individual police officer, and even the chiefs of some police departments may believe this, but in my opinion the police are nothing more that a para-military group, whose primary function and purpose is to act as the first line of defense of the political and economic elite. They are here to keep the rest of society in check and to prevent any sort of armed or political uprising.
The cure
The only way to remedy this situation is to unelect the politicians who rule this country. They need to be replaced by people who sincerely want to make this a better nation. Not by people who are noting more that power mongers and money grubbers. I believe that this must be done and be done soon, otherwise I fear for the future of our great and beautiful country.
